As you enter, you'll be greeted by the original porter's seat, a perfect place to make-believe for an afternoon. Just beyond lies the elegant, wood-paneled lounge, the heart of which is a stately bar from the train's former days. You'll also find a roll-down screen for the projector, so you can connect your favorite streaming services when you want to, and suspend disbelief when you don't. Relax here, or immerse yourself in the period design and space of the office, surrounded by windows on all sides. The railcar also offers two charming suites, the Empire Suite and Adirondack Suite, each complete with plush robes and slippers. Off the back, a brand-new bathhouse offers a modern spa experience, with a luxurious soaking tub, large skylights and a dramatic picture window framing your private woods. Relax in modern comfort, while still feeling connected to nature. The train itself includes a half-bath, cozy shower room and a petite kitchen, preserving the authentic charm of a 1940s railcar adventure.

House Rules

Services: For your convenience, routine services such as lawn care, snow removal, and garbage pickup may occur during your stay.

Parking: Please park only in the designated parking spaces.

Smoking: This is a non-smoking property. Smoking anywhere on the premises will result in a fee of up to $500.

Weapons: Weapons of any kind, including firearms and hunting bows, are strictly prohibited. Any evidence of a weapon will result in immediate eviction from the property.

Events: Parties and events are not permitted. Only registered guests are allowed on the property.

Noise: Please be mindful of our neighbors and observe quiet hours after 9:00 PM.

Fire Safety: Please use fireplaces and fire pits safely and in accordance with posted instructions.

Property Boundaries: For your safety and the privacy of others, please do not trespass beyond the property boundaries.

Camping: The use of tents, yurts, or other camping equipment is prohibited.

Wildlife: As part of our commitment to the environment, we do not use chemical pest sprays. We recommend checking for ticks after spending time outdoors.

Security: For everyone's protection, exterior security cameras are installed at the driveway and main entrance. These are not monitored during your stay unless an issue arises, and they never record the interior of the home.

Pet Policy: Pets are only permitted with prior approval from our team. We welcome all types of dogs with a $50 fee per animal/per night. If you plan to bring more than one dog, please obtain prior approval from the host. All fees are due before check-in and we cannot accept other types of animals at this time. Any undisclosed pets will incur a $300 deep-cleaning fee.

Please be advised that for every 30 minutes spent on the property past 11am check out time a $50 fee will be initiated and charged to the card on file used to book the listing. We appreciate your understanding as we prepare the home for other guests!

To ensure community safety and preserve the natural surroundings, please note that the New York State annual outdoor brush burning ban is currently in effect from March 16 through May 14. During this time, New York prohibits all open residential fires to prevent spring wildfires. This includes the use of outdoor firepits, as well as the burning of debris, leaves, or brush
